Q & A
What is hypnotherapy?
Hypnotherapy is a combination of hypnosis and therapeutic intervention. The therapist leads the patient to positive change while the patient is deeply relaxed in a state of heightened suggestibility called hypnosis.
Hypnosis has been described as a state of altered consciousness. It is not unconsciousness.
How can it help?
Hypnotherapy can be a life changing experience. It can help with feelings of depression, being out of control, stopping smoking, fear of flying, weight control, and also in the treatment of any of the 350+ known phobias.
Is it safe?
There are no substantiated cases of harm befalling any hypnotised subject. The American Medical Association, and The British Medical Association have both endorsed use of hypnotherapy since the early 1950’s.
How will I feel?
You are fully aware of everything during your session and can recall everything afterwards. It can be likened to a dream state, similar to just before you go to sleep and just after waking. Therefore it is a state of mind that you have experienced countless times before.
How does it work?
Hypnotherapy processes interact directly with inner consciousness to find core issue causes of problems in a client’s life. Clients can examine beliefs and thought processes that are giving rise to emotional, physical, mental and spiritual problems and make changes at the core level from which the outer manifestation originates. With changes at the inner levels of consciousness the outer projection changes.
During hypnosis, the critical faculties of the conscious mind are reduced, at the same time, the sub-conscious mind comes to the fore so that we can communicate with it and help make the necessary beneficial changes.
How long will it take?
Unlike other forms of therapy and counselling, which can often take months or years to show results, hypnotherapy gives you the tools to change very rapidly in safety and comfort.
